Message from our CEO

Summer is here, and we at CDS are trying something new.  Because we have a growing company with young employees (many of which are starting families), we are experimenting with a summer vacation shutdown. This will enable most of our folks to get a much needed vacation without interruptions from work.  Of course, our server folks will be on the job as usual. 

 

We've completed the latest version of the CDS Catalog (see details in article below) and continue to extend our partnerships to enable more exposure of your models to Designer Engineers - more news on that after the July 4th week shutdown.

 

In our last newsletter we asked to cooperatively market with you to drive traffic to your and our websites - we're delighted to report multiple successes already:

 

1. Press Releases - we continue to do regular news releases with many customers with great results - for example Google "catalog data solutions" + hytec to see the online mentions of our CDS/Hytec release.

 

2. Article in US Fastener Journal May/June issue - see article entitled "Multiple Benefits of Publishing Parts Catalogs Online- Why you should give 3D CAD away rather than hide it away?" and featuring the following CDS customers Accurate Screw, Buckeye, Captive Fastener, J.W. Winco, Ohio Nut and Bolt, Stock Drive Products.

 

3. Article in Time Compression Technologies magazine Sep/Oct issue - See article entitled "Configurators Build Symbiotic Relationships with Engineering Web Site Visitors" and featuring CDS customer case study on Emerson Power Transmission.

'You & us' Coop Marketing

 

Once your product information, including CAD models, is available online, you need to maximize the number of design engineers and buyers finding it. CDS can help via three cooperative marketing activities:

  • Free Joint Press Releases to announce coming implementations, launched sites, significant milestone measurements (Search Google, Yahoo or MSN with the string "catalog data solutions", including the quotation marks, to see recent CDS and customer joint media exposure)
  • Free Case studies - we'll publish these on our web site and work to get them published in the press (e.g. CADalyst)
  • Free Whitepapers - we include case studies in our whitepapers and get them published (e.g. Time Compression Technologies Magazine, American Fastener Journal)

2. Targeted Exposure for your CAD Models - we connect CAD engineers with your CAD models by featuring your web site inside leading 3D CAD systems  and industry portals

 

3. Free User Surveys - to ensure your customers are satisfied with the solution we're hosting for you.  For example the above graph came from the JW Winco user survey and illustrates how important online designers regard CAD downloads when selecting a supplier [Tip: use the CDS Lead Generation Module to collect email addresses in exchange for downloads then send newsletters, promos, satisfaction surveys]
